Find out if you're eligible to enroll.
If you’re eligible for Original Medicare, you’re also eligible for a Medicare Advantage plan. Many seniors enroll for the first time at 65 years old, when they first qualify. However, it is possible to join Medicare Advantage, change to a new Medicare Advantage plan, or secure prescription coverage several different times of year.
The Initial Enrollment Period is the time when you first qualify for Medicare. During this time, you can enroll in Medicare Advantage. It’s also possible to enroll at the end of each year during the Annual Enrollment Period. January 1 – March 31 is the Open Enrollment Period, where those who already have a Medicare Advantage plan can enhance their coverage. Finally, if one is available in your area, it’s possible to upgrade to a 5-star plan immediately. Other circumstances, called Special Enrollment Periods, may also apply.
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about Medicare enrollment! If you’d like to find out whether you qualify, or if a 5-star Medicare Advantage plan is available in Austin, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
